- Lovage [Nathaniel Merriweather] Strangers on a Train
EQUIPMENT: Premiere 6, Photoshop 6
WORKING TIME: About 4 or 5 hours on April 6, 2002
This was basically just a technical experiment... I wanted to work with multiple layers of text and images in a song that had multiple layers of soft sound.
I'd originally thought that "Strangers on a Train" might be a good song to use for a video, but the verses are so incredibly out-there sexual that it wouldn't fit much of anything.
I wasn't too concerned about story or continuity, I just wanted to see how this would look.
It turned out sort of busy, but whatever. I had fun playing with the Screen and Image Matte options, and with adding cheesy floating text.
Kind of an interesting dreamlike effect that might come in handy later.
Ended up with 10 video layers, about 8 different effects used. Fonts were Fatslab, Garamond Light, Dresden Firestorm, and Parchment. Meh.
I really really like the intro ^^
By the way, the album this song is from just rocks my socks. It's called "Lovage: Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady By", and it's yet another Prince Paul / Dan the Automator collaboration.
