Being only a novice video creator armed with only Windows Movie Maker, I realize I'm not likely to be noticed by many AMV fans. It's tough for me to measure up to those who can afford good computers and programs. I try my best though, and what my videos lack in picture quality, I do my best to make up for in work and devotion. I'm an artist, and I try to make my videos works of such.
Ok, now that I've sufficiently obeyed the "Be verbose" instruction under this field, I'll finally talk about the video. =P As I said, it was created with Windows Movie Maker, in .wmv format. The quality's really not bad now that I've figured out how to adjust it to maximum, and the size isn't savage either (9.12 MB). It took me approximately 63 hours(or more; I didn't time myself) over the course of about 2 weeks to make, most of it being between 11pm and 5am. Once I started I couldn't stop until I was satisfied with each segment. It was frustrating and challenging, but also so much fun to make.
Considering my lack of expensive editing software, simple functions such as fading to black, frame-by-frame editing, and speed-changes had to be done by hand and with lots of improvising. I had to use a usually-faulty screen-capture program to take shots of every single frame in several parts, trim the film picture to the same size for each frame (at least, attempt to; the screenshot program would grab the entire edit area, not just the frame), then do the edit on each frame and glue them back together. *Phew* Confused yet? Good.
I couldn't actually change the speeds of the scenes that needed it, so I instead again captured each frame, trimmed them, then took out certain ones in between. The problem with this, was that reinserting them, I couldn't trim them to the length of one frame; it'd be at least two and a half. This led to patient extra removals and brain-surgery precise overlaps that took at least fifteen minutes PER FRAME. So, this at-a-glance simple video was more complicated than meets the eye, and I'm proud that I was able to do these home-grown effects without the aid of equipment that can do it with the push of a button. That's what makes this video that much more fulfilling to me.
But hey, you're the viewer and don't have to worry about that, right? Right! =D Just watch this video and enjoy it, from it's matching to the lyrics and beat, to the lip-syncing segments (It's not for the whole song, just for the refrain. Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense ^_^). It's set to "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" by Offspring, featuring movie clips from the Dragonball Z Buu Saga, a few still pictures from DBZ and DBGT, and some graphics featuring... well, if you listen to the lyrics when they come up, you'll know. Don't want to spoil the surprise when it comes to cameos. ^_^
It pretty much portrays teen-Gohan's naiive side. He's goofy and innocent, and can't quite fit in. But the chicks still dig him!
So, enough with my rambling. Good luck finding me; this vid has been said by many to be loads of fun!
