The title is a hybrid of a line from the song and the title of the first episode of Love Hina. In "Come Out And Play", there is a line that says, "Your never ending spree of DEATH, VIOLENCE, and HATE." The title of the first episode of Love Hina translates into something like, "Big Trouble in an ALL-GIRLS DORMITORY WITH an outdoor HOT SPRING Bath!"
While this video was my fourth, it was the first idea that I ever had for a music video. I wasn't really interested in doing another Offspring video after "White Shounen", but I still had this idea in my head for almost a year and I had finally gotten ahold of some unsubbed Love Hina footage, so I gave it a shot.
Even though I gave this video much thought beforehand, there were many sections of the song where I had no idea what I should use. The song, as far as I can tell, is about gang rivalry, but Love Hina is not all about gangs and real violence. Initially, this clash in themes made the video rather difficult to complete since there were few scenes that obviously matched the lyrics. I was worried that I had picked a bad combination of anime and music and contemplated chucking the project. After taking some time away from this project, I came back to see if any inspiration would hit me. Slowly, I was able to come up with some fun ideas for the many troublesome scenes. As I started to make much progress again, I noticed that the scenes where I had difficulty before were turning out to be the best parts of the video. I found that taking the time to be creative instead of just using whatever first jumps in my head can lead to some very positive results.
In the end, I was very pleased with the video, even if it was another Offspring video. I don't think there's anything wrong with using heavily used songs and bands if you can still create a unique and enjoyable video.
Note: When I have Kaolla Su lip synched to "Take him out", the turtle on her head is also lip synching. ^_^
