SH094 took shape over January and February 2005, and despite illness, the demands of a full-time job, and a whole pile of other outside projects, finished just right before the Anime Boston submission deadline. It was done in Magix on Battlefreak, even including the audio modifications that were required by AniBo's six-minute time limit (which I still feel is bogus, but what the hell).
As regards content, well, it's Galaxy Express. There are themes of travel, love, and loss, which tie together into progressive maturation. It's possible to get this out of the video, and it's also possible to read it as just a animated treatment of the musical source. This one is in the hands of the viewers.
There are a lot of effects in this one, mostly complex and subtle stuff taking advantage of Magix's filterset. However, there is also some beat-flashing (which caused problems with the editor's resolution range that delayed the video), and there are three page-peels. But what else was I going to do on "turn the page"??
Shin Hats Self Grade: A-/B+. I'm confident that this video is solid, but not sure how it'll go as superlative.
