Where to begin? I first heard this song when watching another AMV, and instatnly fell in love with it. Since then I have been in a frenzy attempting to create something far different in the way of an AMV, something unlike any other I've done, or seen done to this song. As such, I decided to cross an anime drama with light-heartedness with an anime drama best known for decapitations and other such wonderfully gratuitous forms of violence. Then the brilliance hit me.
From Kanon, I've mostly targeted Mai, a mostly depressed young girl who can often be found fighting monsters created from her own inner demons
From Elfen Lied, I targeted Lucy/Nuu, a well-developed character with a split personality disorder. As Lucy, she is a violent killer, who's past is filled with dark secrets, and many tragedies. As Nuu, she is innocent, sweet, and very nieve.
My concept came to life. And through this video, I've intermingled the stories of these two characters to develope a slight feel of my own little plotline, in which Mai and Lucy have become bitter enemies. But when it seems that these two mean only to kill each other, memories of their childhoods flash by, and they lose heart to continue their fight.
It's at this point I introduce Kouta from Elfen Lied, and Yuuichi from Kanon. There are many similarities in the two, who are nearly identical, except for hair color, please pardon that error in editing, as my editor won't allow for frame-by-frame editing without thousands of hours of work time. As such, assume they are one and the same person for the sake of the video. It is using the element of Yuuichi/Kouta that the final confrontation between Mai and Lucy comes to a head, and leads to the conclusion of my best work (in my oppinion) to date. Please, enjoy this video, and leave some feedback, I'd love to know how you all thought it went.
