In the tradition of Fluxy’s Birthday Spankings and Beo’s Birthday Bash, I was inspired to bestow another Birthday video upon Beowulf this year. I only got to edit it less than a week, but I lost much sleep in the process and had the absolute most fun I’ve ever had editing. I took some shortcuts to get it done in time, but the end result is a lot of fun to watch and the song quite infectious.

I took Gambitt’s recommendation after AWA 10 to check out the site Bastard Pop (site not always available), where I came across the song and knew I had to do something with it. Since Beo is the master of all things Marilyn Manson, it naturally fell into place to make it for him. Never mind that he deserves it for talking my ass into editing again.

R.O.D. TV just happened to be the latest anime I watched soon after acquiring the song, and I was very pleased at how a Birthday theme was present in the show and that I was able to apply it appropriately. I originally planned on including a rather large amount of spoilers in the video, but thankfully decided against it once I saw that I could pull it off just the same without them. The only thing I spoil in this version is how many kick ass action scenes are in both shows. That’s really all I wanted to do with the video, showcase the whoop ass to hilarious/awesome rendition of Tag Team’s classic track.

I cut the song down to just over a minute, so that certainly makes it all the more short, but I knew I had little time to prep this and it was an appropriate duration for me to get in and out of it as soon as possible. The source is from an mp3, nothing I could do about that, so I highly recommend using headphones when viewing. It sounds quite terrible on my speakers, so I’d hate to think of how it sounds on another’s system.

I always wish I could spend more time on my videos, and though this one is no different. It turned out very well in the time I had available, especially since I’m usually ridiculously slow at editing action videos in general. I hope people enjoy it, and that concludes this edition of “doughboy types too efffing much.”
