  • Comments: I got this idea ages ago. Actually, back in about 1997, I got the idea to do a video to this song, but at the time I was still working with a camcorder and VCR, and I quickly discovered that this song was too quick and slick to be done that way. So I back-burnered the idea, and then about 9 months ago when I saw Happy Tree Friends for the first time, I knew what had to be done. Muahahaha.

The release of the 3rd HTF DVD this summer was wonderful, because it contained the cartoon of Flippy going on a rampage in a movie theater, providing a lot of the key footage to sync with the lyrics. Once I'd reviewed all 3 DVDs, the whole video laid itself out in my mind. All I had to do was put it down on the timeline. One of the easiest videos I ever made, just because it was so clear in my head.

WARNING: It's very gory. Don't say I didn't warn you. Cartoon violence galore. NOT FOR KIDS.

If you enjoy this video, I suggest you pick up the Happy Tree Friends DVDs. you can get them on Amazon.com cheaper than most places. Want to see some of the cartoons before you buy? Go to http://www.happytreefriends.com and watcha few episodes. My favorite episodes are the Buddhist Monkey cartoons, but wouldn't ya know it... those are DVD exclusives. Also, if you don't already own it, go buy the Weird Al Yankovic "In 3-D" album. I think it's his best album ever. Utterly classic.

    AWARDS:

1.) This video won a VAT Guest Award at AWA X in 2004: The "Thanks for Stealing Our Panel" Award, given by Kazz of Studio Gaijin. The story behind this award is simple; Studio Gaijin shared a panel with me and Dave Peterson (LostCrack Productions, a collaboration of me and Dave). When I showed Nature Trail, it got a wild reaction from the crowd, so Studio Gaijin was playfully ribbing me with this award for upstaging them. (But don't be fooled, 'cause they do great work too. Their 'Anger Management' vid is especially awesome.)

2.) Best Comedy, Middle Tennessee Anime Convention 2005
