My fourth video total, and the first one I make using Adobe Premiere. Premiere actually does crash more than WMM2! Amazing!!

    THE STYLE:
This vid isn't defined into any of the categories I had the option to choose from (which oddly enough included "other") so I picked the three that, combined in unproportional doses, give an idea of what the vid's about.

    THE MAKING:
You know one of those days when you wake up feeling evil? Well, turns out I had one of those days and the first song I heard was this one, Points of Authority. The evil idea of producing an AMV about Ikari Gendo that was filled with tormant and anguish started to grow inside my otherwise good-natured mind.

That was a few months ago, I was involved with another project (seemingly enough, another Evangelion project), "I'm Hating All of This." So I didn't jump straight into it. When I finally got this project started, it wasn't such an evil day for me, so it turned out very different from what I had
originally planned. Still, I believe it to be a great project and THANK GOD, it's an AVI file now.

    THE VIDEO:
Neon Genesis Evangelion. The footage I used extends from Episode 1 to 24 and a little bit of the movie End of Evangelion. a few spoilers on the movie but nothing that'll ruin your fun in watching it. The main focus is theoretically Gendo Ikari and his relationships (if you can call them that) with his son Shinji and with Ayanami Rei. The part about Rei, however, ended up taking only a small part in the video. Subtitles. Again, if I removed them, the video would look awful unless you dropped the resolution to about 48X32 pixels. Until I find a place with decent EVA DVDs (I've been looking, it's not that easy), I'll be cursed with subtitles.

    THE MUSIC:
The lyrics in this song just scream out Ikari Gendo. Or maybe it's just Chester Bennington screaming out Ikari Gendo. Oh, well.

I, for one, can't find anything wrong with Linkin Park (except for the preposterous amount ov AMVs made with their songs. Yet, here I am, making one.). The tunes are nice, the lyrics are something you can relate to (especially if you're a depresed suicidal maniac, but normal people can relate to it too), the two vocalists have good voices and sing well. Points of Authority is track 4 of the album "Hybrid Theory" and the lyrics follow:

    THE LYRICS:

    Forfeit the game
before somebody else takes you out of the frame
and puts your name to shame

    cover up your face
    you can't run the race
    the pace is too fast
    you just won't last

    You love the way
    I look at you
    while taking pleasure
    in the awful things
    you put me through

    You take away
    If I give in
    My life, my pride
    is broken

You have to think you're never wrong
    [You live what you learn]
You have to act like you're someone
    [You live what you learn]
You want someone to hurt like you
    [You live what you learn]
You wanna share what you've been through
    [To live what you learn]

    You love the things
    I say I'll do
    The way I hurt
    myself again just
    to get back at you

    You take away
    When I give in
    My life, my pride
    is broken

You'd like to think you're never wrong
    [You live what you learn]
You have to act like you're someone
    [You live what you learn]
You want someone to hurt like you
    [You live what you learn]
You wanna share what you've been through
    [To live what you learn]

    Forfeit the game
before somebody else takes you out of the frame
and puts your name to shame

    cover up your face
    you can't run the race
    the pace is too fast
    you just won't last

    Forfeit the game
before somebody else takes you out of the frame
and puts your name to shame

    cover up your face
    you can't run the race
    the pace is too fast
    you just won't last

You'd like to think you're never wrong
    [You live what you learn]
You have to act like you're someone
    [You live what you learn]
You want someone to hurt like you
    [You live what you learn]
You wanna share what you've been through
    [To live what you learn]

You'd like to think you're never wrong
    [Forfeit the game]
    [To live what you learn]
You have to act like you're someone
    [Forfeit the game]
    [You live what you learn]
You want someone to hurt like you
    [Forfeit the game]
    [You live what you learn]
You wanna share what you've been through
    [To live what you've learned]

    THE FINALIZING:
After experiencing a great sortie of problems with Premiere, and actually having to reinstall the software three times, I got the video out. And it was upside-down. New project, import the upside-down video, apply a vertical flip filter over what is now only one clip (heehee). Now Adobe Premiere thinks it's flipped, but it actually isn't (after three hours of exporting...AGAIN...) and now it works. My first AVI-format AMV (the others were cursed WMVs).

    THE FINAL RESULT:
Overall, I think did a good job. I won't say EXCELLENT, but, hey, I was new to the software. The music is great, the anime is the best, the editing...well, I'm still a beginner. Only recently did someone tell me to READFAG! and that was after I made the video, but I think it turned out very good. Download it, you won't be sorry.
