Not what I had planned to do next, but Zorra sent me the song in hopes of inspiring me. "Seems to be the type of song you like to use," she said. "Might be able to make a vid with it," she said, very doubtfully too. I wasn't even a minute into the freaking song and I had the general theme and some specific scenes picked out. Oh well, not really complaining, honest. It kept me distracted from by brothers hunt for my song for almost...two days.
First thing Zorra said when I showed her the vid was, "Why can't I do anything angsty?!" So yeah, definitly a sad, angsty tone to this vid. It's (Yami) Bakura and (Hikari) Ryou centric, hence the option "character profile." What I was going for (and hopfully achived) was a view of their relationship, which the series is saddly lacking. I take a shonen ai view, but if you're not into that sort of thing, you probably won't notice...maybe. ...Ok, now she's complaining about the Romance label, because she didn't really see it; it wasn't the main focus for her. So really, it's up to the viewer.
I wanted to show Ryou's...wishing or longing for a different relationship with his yami, and the "mask" or attitude of Bakura's. But beneath that mask, Bakura actually feels for Ryou as well, but either can't, won't, or doesn't know how to show it, save the special occasion.
Zorra had one complaint, that towards the end of the vid, when it's just musical. I've got both Ryou and then Bakura talking, but there's no lyrics. This was semi-intentional. It shows that they're not getting through to the other, they're not connecting. Neither is hearing or seeing what the other has to say or feels.
