  Since making this video, I had gone to Japan for the Spring semester. During this time I had stayed in contact with Adenosine Tri-Phosphate (ATP), and asked if they were playing any shows any time soon (since they're a Japanese band). Well, they started a small club tour in Tokyo before I left Japan, and I was in fact able to see them play and meet with Taata and Mug (the vocalist and guitarist). That was very cool! They had been having problems getting a hold of my AMV, so I was able to deliver it to them on CD in person. In return, they handed me a pile of promotional CDs of their new songs to spread throughout the USA....Just thought I'd share that.

  This is my second AMV project using the anime "Serial Experiments Lain" and the song "Here We Are" by Adenosine Tri-Phosphate. I discovered this Japanese band while searching through free downloads on MP3.com, and I fell in love. In fact, I loved their stuff so much that I ordered both of their CDs. I guess you could describe their sound as glam/electronic/new wave, but I'd call it euphoric. Apparently they're pretty popular in the Japanese underground culture. I really wanted to use one of their songs for my next AMV, and on a whim I decided to e-mail the band asking for permission (is this a first?) to use one of their songs for a project. Well, a few weeks later their wonderful female vocalist Taata e-mailed me back, saying that it would be great if I used one of their songs, and she was curious to know what song and anime. She also wanted me to send them a copy when I was finished, so I'll do that ASAP. I hope they like it! The lyrics are in English, but they're a little hard to understand at times with her accent so I'll post the lyrics below. I thought "Serial Experiments Lain" would be fitting with this song, as Lain is getting more and more sucked into the "Wired." This is a "serious" piece compared to my AMV "Superstition," and you'll notice that the quality has gone up now that I am using/learning Premiere instead of Virtualdub for the editing. After many weeks, and many stressful editing moments and frequent crashes, it's finally done....
