- Title: The AniMix Project - Segment 88 (Part 3)
- Premiered: 2003-11-04
- Robert Miles Children
After several months of waiting, Part 3 of the Animix Project is finally listed on the 'Org, and I have decided to list my segment under my name.
Ever since a good friend of mine introduced me to Children (Dreams Version) by Robert Miles, I've listened to it over and over again. It's just an amazing track overall. Problem is, the full thing is over 7 minutes long, and cutting it would truely be a shame.
So naturally, when I saw that Children was in Part 3 of Animix (in a 30-second segment, no less), I emailed WilLoW that instant in order to claim it. After scanning my (at the time) somewhat-lackluster collection, I chose Spirited Away.
Putting it together took... roughly 15-20 hours over a period of a couple weeks. I wanted to use "piano keys," so I emailed Wonka (his video 'Appetite for Dynamite' was the inspiration, after all) and recieved his blessing. Things went a little rough until I discovered the use of keyframes, and that's how the piano keys began to move instead of just fading.
The white flashes came from the help of dji. Each are 5 frames long, and the opacity rubberband goes from 0-->100 on the first three frames, and 100-->0 on the last two. I had to put that 3rd frame exactly on-beat, so each of the white flashes was positioned by hand.
I dedicate my first-ever lens flare to VicBond, whose Shining Collection video was a favorite of mine at the time, and who was kickass enough to show me the progress of Charcoal Sketched Dreams.
Congrats to WilLoW and Shiryu for putting together an amazing Part 3 and to my fellow AniMix editors. I can't wait to see what you guys come up with for the last two parts.
I won't be putting this segment online seperately as per WilLoW's request, but leave an opinion in here after you've downloaded Part 3.
