This video is a strange and quirky combination of genres to suit an anime that hosts just the same - that is to say the disgust and hate Shinji and Asuka share for each other for their own various reasons, as well as the....erm...romance they share.
*SPOILERS for End of Evangelion*
Throughout the series and the movie, Shinji continually 'cries' to different characters for dependance and support, more so Asuka in the movie than anyone else. This is the aspect I started the AMV for - to outline that aspect of Shinji in the movie (eg lyrics "Don't cry to me oh baby"). As the editing progressed however I needed more, and to my advantage I was able to not only suit the aspects of Asuka using Shinji as a dependance of her own persona, but also how the event of third impact was shaped and effected by both characters as they continued their psychological battle.
Such examples are
"You should have seen it a comin' on" - Shinji should have seen the effects of what was to happen as a result of his actions;
"I'll be seeing you in hell" - The anticipating reunion of all souls and hence Shinji and Asuka (prevented ultimately by Shinji, however ironically the setting of the new world is basically hell on earth) which can be seen as Asuka's anger towards Shinji, her choice to not help him and, hence, 'I'll see you in hell' point of view.
Many more examples could be given, but they are obvious when you watch the video so just download the damn thing and see for yourself! x_x
The song is really an accute description of the warped relationship Shinji and Asuka share, both love & hate. If you've seen the series and the movie, you'll understand me (which I'm sure you have if you've read this far anyway heh).
This video was made with around 4 and a half years of experience (approximately x_x). Enjoy, and please please PLEASE leave comments - I so love them all =)
(NOTE from the editor): Finally another video - there has been a somewhat HUGE gap between this video and the last one I made (although the premiere dates are recent the actual videos were made previously - check the video descriptions for dates). As an outline as to how well this vid was edited compared to my last ones all I have to say is, look at the gap in experience. It's a lot better =)
Simple enough for you?
