I really dig the way this video came out. I love the cuts, and the track, and was really trying to get into the show with the video. It is a little linear, but that was intentional... the story is great, first of all, and fits with the song in order, as does the mood, etc. etc.
The short is very obviously heavily influenced by Film Noir. The entire Dummy album from Portishead has the same sort of smokey gin joint feel to it that many of the Film Noir movement peices had. I thought this would probably be my only solid opportunity to combine a Portishead song with something animated, and have it match the mood and the movement of the peice.
