So here it is, my first new AMV release since 2008.
The song in this video is a remix of audio clips from the TV show, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", mixed to dubstep music. Just for the record, "It's Always Sunny" is one of my favorite TV shows and is consistently hilarious. Radical_Yue actually linked me to this song a while back and I remembered the song while editing videos for participation in the the Project Orgeditor online AMV contest. This idea was not my first idea for that contest, but after giving up on my first two ideas due to time constraints, I jokingly threw this song on the timeline and started messing around. It didn't take long for this video to take on a life of it's own and turn into something I really wanted to see in a finished form. It was shocking how some scenes synced up so perfectly together; not to mention being extremely hilarious at the same time. So after working on the video for three days straight, I submitted the video for the contest deadline, but from there I still wanted to further polish it and give it an official release. So over the weeks following the end of the contest round, I got some feedback on the video and made some tweaks and improvements to scene selections and effects that I didn't get time to implement due to the time sensitive deadline of the Orgeditor contest. But here it is now, polished, completed, and how it was meant to be seen.
The premise of the video portrays the struggle between the Nightman and the Dayman as told, and sung, by the character's inventor. Madoka is Charlie, who invented the Dayman and the Nightman, as well as wrote and sang the song, Mami is the Dayman who fights for light and friendship, Homura is the Nightman who fights for the dark in people's hearts, and we end with a guest appearance by Kyubei as the troll who guards their souls...ironically fitting right?
Anyways...let me say that this project was the most fun I've had editing. It was incredibly fun to make and had me constantly laughing in the midst of editing. This video started out as a joke, but transformed into a pretty respectable action video. There are some laughs in there, but for the most part I really worked at the action editing to make it perfectly sync to the song. I hope everyone enjoys the video, and for those who don't know about "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", GO WATCH IT NOW.
Special Thanks to:
Radical_Yue for pointing out the song to me in the first place.
CodeZTM for coordinating the contest that spawned this idea.
And MimS for his helpful feedback that helped in revising the video.
