Over on my website, Daizenshuu EX, I had been working off-and-on with a character guide. After typing up and finishing a few for characters that appeared for a good part of the series, I wanted to do a couple for characters that only briefly appeared in the series (minor side characters, perhaps a few henchmen).

After looking through the manga for a while, I decided upon a character named "Appule". He is a minor henchman of Freeza's that is killed off just as quickly as he is introduced. Despite this, he's actually given a name (being a pun on "Apple"), so I could theoretically write up a short little guide for him.

He quickly became a gag character for me to reference at every possible opportunity. As time went on and more and more video games were seeing a release, more and more characters were being crammed into them. My joke popped up perfectly, saying that once Appule became a playable character, they truly were scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

Well, Appule became a playable characters in the Japanese Wii version of DBZ: Sparking! NEO (Budokai Tenkaichi 2), and then in all versions of DBZ: Sparking! METEOR (Budokai Tenkaichi 3).

I then decided that I should make a tribute video to my new favorite character, since he was clearly deemed worthy by the Japanese merchandisers.

This trailer is basically every single last shot (minus one or two redundant ones) that exist of Appule over the span of the two episodes he appears in. The title of the video somewhat gives it away, but it's still hilarious to me.

And that's really all that matters. It made me laugh, and it only took about 90 minutes to make.

I ended up entering the video into AWA Pro 2008 simply because it was done by the deadline. Sorry about that.
