    CONCEPT:
If you know the history between the Megazone 23 and The Matrix, the concept should be an absolute no-brainer... I was shocked to discover no-one had done it before. If you don't know the history between the two, watch this trailer, and it should become pretty apparent.

    THE STORY:
The real world is not the real world. Blah blah blah. You've definitely seen one of the two sources :P.

    MAKING THE VIDEO:
After hearing Gerald's review of Megazone 23 on Anime World Order (an anime podcast), I decided it was finally time to actually watch the damn thing. We watched it, we went on with our lives. The Monday before the AWA 2007 Exposition deadline, it randomly occurred to me that making a trailer to The Matrix with Megazone 23 was the easiest idea that could ever be done. I checked around and did not see a single attempt at the idea, so I took it upon myself to do it. The video was edited over the next five days (Monday mostly being ripping and prepping the footage, Friday mostly being finalizing, exporting, encoding, and uploading the video). With one hour to spare after the upload, the video was complete.

It's a very basic edit job, with little in the way of effects. There is a little bit of glowing, some zooms, a little bit of re-coloring, and some lip-syncing... but that's about it. Selling this video is more about appropriate and perfect scene selection than anything else.

The video's title serves two purposes: (1) a self-aware apology for making another trailer to The Matrix, and (2) trying to be funny after making a video named "Obligatory EVA Trailer" in 2003.

This video was made with Adobe Premiere 6.5 and Adobe After Effects 6.5.

    CONCLUSION:
This video was submitted to Anime Weekend Atlanta's Exposition contest in 2007, and premiered during our panel at said convention. It was a super fun little video to make, and I enjoy watching it over and over with a stupid grin.
