- Deftones Knife Party
This video shows the experiences of one character's journey, from the terrifying place he woke up in, to the world he conquered.
This video was more about testing my capabilities as an editor than anything else. I used a completely different editing method for the first time, and I pushed my quickness as an editor by completing this in five days. Originally, I had started editing this video to another song by the Deftones, "Digital Bath", but decided that I would have to change my original concept to something more mellow if I wanted to continue using that song. Instead I decided to check out the rest of the album, and found a song which was much more fitting to what I wanted to do. Those familiar with the song "Knife Party" will notice that it has been cut down from it's original version, and that I've made a few edits to the audio myself.
I have a lot of people to thank for helping me out with this project. First off, a big thanks to AtomX for teaching me the bait-and-switch method and for showing me many other tricks of the trade. A special thanks to Niotex for being a great beta tester and helping me out just a ton with a lot of different things (and for challenging me to finish this so quickly >:D). Also thanks to Aesling, Nessephanie, and Requiett for being awesome beta testers, and to Fall_Child42 for helping with the h264. And last but not least, thanks to the guys over at VNS (SenshiMamoru, Valion, Kristyrat, and Kisanzi!), because even if you're skiing in Canada or covered in the snowy depths of Colorado, I know you guys are there to help :)
Just something to end 2006 with. I think this is the video I've had the most enjoyable time editing, because really, I just went at it and had fun. For a more detailed account on the production of this AMV, take a look at my journal on this site.
Any comments, feedback, and/or opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and enjoy!
