    Good evening hippies.

Please adjust your chemical balances as appropriate before watching. If your judgement is presently unimpaired, please reconsider viewing.

This "video" consists of a lot of awesome footage in shapes of no particular importance, forming intricate and not-so-intricate patterns on what essentially becomes a psychovisual canvas that can be interpreted and misinterpreted at the viewer's discretion - set to a DADA-ROCK tune by none other than the genius Captain Beefheart, appearing in an AMV for the very first time.

    Now pay attention:

IF A VIDEO HAS ALL THE EFFECTS AND TAKES A LONG TIME TO RENDER AND ENCODE IN X.264, IT HAS TO BE AWESOME!1111one

    right?

    How it actually happened:

About a month ago, I started a dead-end project with Ghost in the Shell 2. I finally got sick of the footage just sitting around my HD, but when I got to deleting it, it just felt like a waste deleting it after all the preparation.

So, what the hell. I fired up Premiere. Next question was the song. I shuffled my playlist through about 5 random songs. Had I worse (or better) judgement, one of these songs could have been used for the video instead: PilOt - Limita, Dio - Don't Talk to Strangers, Vienna Teng - Recessional, DDT - Svin'ya na Raduge (Pig on a Rainbow). Be thankful that they weren't.

I messed around for an hour, rendered for another 3, showed the result to Orwell.
Orwell didn't leave me alone since then, and a lot of hours and renders later, here we have this.

    Or not.

This one's been called a "failed experiment" that I was originally not planning to upload.

Unfortunately, I kept coming back to it and adding more and more layers/effects, until the beast took over 12 hours to render, at which point I decided that it HAD to be screwed up enough to warrant a release.

That said, it may compromise my plans for a 'real', effort-laden Captain Beefheart video that I'm hoping to do. I think this genius artist deserves a much better introduction to AMVs... but at least this will do his oddity justice.

    System:
    Mushroom House Mk.II
    Pentium IV 3.06 (dual-core)
    2048Mb DDR RAM
    80 + 120Gb HDs
    128Mb BFG GeForce 6600OC
    Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi
    Sennheiser HD515 headset
    Adobe Premiere 6.5, AviSynth, VirtualDubMod
    x.264 video codec

Special thanks to Orwell for both bat/betatesting and consistent poking to get this released.
If you have complaints about having had to watch this video, it's entirely his fault. (Jasper is entirely blameless this time).
