- Hammerfall Glory To The Brave
Shin Hatsubai video #62 marked the first time that a video had been made for a specific contest. It's fair to say that without TommyRude's Eighties contest, this video would not have been made, because I don't like HammerFall that much, and promoting them is only a step below promoting Linkin Park in my book. The intent with this video was to parody the hilariously sappy original version released on the I Want Out eCD single, and though it's far from frame-for-frame, it's recognizable. Said video WILL be going on the competition CD so the judges have a point of reference.
There's no lip-synch on this video, but the box remains checked due to some instrument synch. The piano is more or less going with the notes in the intro, and the violin mimic of the guitar solo in the last cut of that sequence is particularly good. Otherwise, effects include three cuts reversed with AviSynth, a levels-adjust, and some framerate deceleration. The radial blurs are original with the source, not the editing.
Shin Hats Self Grade: B/B+. Decent, but not great, and the parody is of something more than a little obscure. There's a good bit of my own style as well, but if I liked the band a little more, I might believe more in this video.
