    Hi,

I guess you could call it a alternative romance-comedy video. Again due to the implied content and other factors, I doubt this will ever make it into any conventions, so this is probably the only place youíll see it.

This idea was one that I was thinking off while I was originally making Evangelion Opus, but started after I began on another video - Eva Potential. It was originally meant to be more of a comedy video to downplay the violence in Evangelion but somehow along the way it ended up being an alternative little story of Asuka and Shinji. No Eva units are present in this video. Itís a case of portraying an alternative episode of series by rearranging and careful manipulation of the available footage. I started this video during December 2001, and basically finished it around March 2002, after I replaced the footage with new DVD-ripped footage. Then some tweaking around the middle of 2002, which involved a title change, originally called ĎA True Love Storyí and some minor edits.

    If you are wondering, the song is performed by the band the Inkspots, recorded from the early 40s, Iím not sure if this is the EARLIEST recorded song used in an AMV on this site. You may have heard of them from their other Ďfamousí song from the Fallout 1 PC game opening video song, ĎMaybeí. This oneís pretty similar in style, but more epic. :D Please do consider the date/recording technology when this song was recorded (40ís!) with when laying judgment on audio quality. ^_^;

It started out as a simple video and it slowly grew a plot over time. The story starts in the present, and jumps back in time, so I added text to help out people piece together the event in the story when they re-watch the video. And I canít remember when but before I know it, there was the idea of the Shinji-Asuka date story arc, which evolved into quite an interesting/bizarre conclusion at the end. I may have used footage from other characterís bodies, but since you never see their faces, itís only meant to be of Shinji and Asuka. :D

Since the video isnít very long, thereís minimal effects and lip synch in this video, so I wonít check either of them. Does Shinji Crooning count? O_O

What was interesting in contrast to the other video which I was working on at that time, Eva Potential, the pace of the two videos was radically different, and I had to be careful not to over-edit one or under-edit the other, as I switched between videos. All in all, it was a very fun and fairly non-painful video to make.

This should be my last Eva video for quite a while, while I move on to new anime sources - Enjoy!

Lyrics are easy to follow Ė

I donít want to set the world on fire
    I just want to start
    A flame in your heart

In my heart I have but one desire
    And that one is you
    No other will do

    Iíve lost all ambition
    And worldly acclaim
I just want to be the one you love
    And with your admission
    That you feel the same
    Iíll have reach the goal
    That Iíve been dreaming of
    Believe me

I donít want to set the world on fire
I just want to start a flame in your heart.
