The third trailer/teaser in my collection so far, this, like The Blue Star, uses video game footage. This video was made using two emotions: the want to create a RE video of some kind, and boredom. Videos like this are hella fun 'cause they're easy to make and they don't a long time to do, meaning you won't lose inspiration and the desire to create the video itself as easily These are also one of my favorite kind of videos, as they're short, sweet and to the point. This video is more of a teaser than a trailer, really. It's less than two minutes long, and only has the Gargoyles audio, no voices from RE2 put in or anything, so nothing TOO fancy. ^_^ Er, I've strayed from the video. Back to the profile.
As I said before, I really wanted to make an exceptional Resident Evil video. Having just bought the first one (Director's Cut) and the GC remake, I really had an urge to do something with the games besides just play them. In fact, that's what I do when I buy anime: I consider if the anime might work if I ever decided to make an AMV out of it. Ultimately, however, I keep realizing that pretty much every anime can be done well as an AMV, you just have to do it right.
Damnit, I keep going off topic. Okay, let me try this again.
As usual, I used Adobe Premiere 6.0 and Photoshop 6.0. And since I had to deal with video game footage in this situation, I used PsxMC, the freeware program that rips movie files from Playstion games. Having only the BETA version of it at the time, this "darling" program crashed my computer many a time while this video was in production. -_o *twitch*
Some areas of the video have some small irritating little details that I'd like to point out. I like to call these things "whiney details." =P
00:06 -- The Capcom logo just tends to fade out, whereas the original RE2 intro fades the Capcom logo to the Umbrella logo. I would have loved to beat the company's own intro, but the Gargoyles audio says nay.
00:13 -- The zombies appear too soon in the video, in my opinion. I wanted it so that they would appear when the audio gets faster and more intense, but the only clips I could find that weren't alredy being used, zombies it was. However, this works out, because I didn't want to have to use something like the Licker or Birkin too soon in the video. So I guess I just complained for no reason. Weird.
00:34 -- If only the clip of Birkin doing his roar was longer, I wouldn't have had to include the shot of the two Umbrella men shooting at him. I really REALLY didn't want them in there, but nothing else in the sewers scene worked for that particular scene, so I got stuck with bupkis. Eh well.
00:55 -- The helicopter spinning and crashing was difficult to blend. I mean, one second it's spinning, the next it's shooting toward a wall. Not very much transistion, unless you include the two-frame cross dissolve (if anybody even catches that).
01:11 -- Not anything to complain about, but this is my favorite self-made bumper yet. =D
As always, your thoughts on my videos are greatly appreciated.
*None. Move along. :P
