• Comments: This is a more personal kick-in-the-ass to myself. Actually, to be honest, this is the first video production that I've finished since 2002. Which is quite a lot of time if you think about it.
  
  What the idea that led to the creation of this video was quite the spontaneous one. Had beed talking quite alot recently with some finnish AMV people (mostly AT), and wanted to give my own try at making an AMV. So I thought, why not making a short one, for fun, just to get the feel of it -- to work with "limited resources" (in the sense you don't have any real "extra" footage, like when you do DV).
  
  The reason why I ended up choosing Laputa for the anime in question was quite simple; Even though the music may not fit straight in, I still feel that the song fits in with the cloud-themed setting that Laputa is built around. The song itself, going on at a nice 200 BPM, is a shorter production make by japanese hobby musician Phantasma. Soaring melodies, happy and fast beats and fantasy scenes are my weak point.
  
  I feel that this project has inspired me to go deeper into the bowels of AMV -- and it can be a great excercise in editing and visualising your ideas, at the same time. This project will probably not stay as my last one (I have already too many ideas and too little time to visualise them).
  
  Also, some (almost) interesting facts; the whole video was edited on my laptop -- a VAIO VGN-FS195VP, slow as hell with 512MB of memory and very little HD space (the ideal setting for any editor). This project was also my first ever project to edit/use Sony Vegas Video at all. One sleepless night, a lot of coffee, some schoolwork and random bantering caused this video to happen.
