    A friend of mine once told me that, "everyone is looking for someone to pin their dreams on." This video is about attaching ourselves to another person--who we think will take us to the pinnacle of happiness--and realizing the fantasy outshines them. Either we give up the person closest to us, or we abandon the dream and live with our "eyes shut wide" to our lover's faults and failings.

    This video is not a recap of the movie itself. While various elements of the actual storyline are used, the feeling I wanted to project is quite different from the movie's conclusion.

    Technical
    The DVD footage of Beyond the Clouds is rather dark on monitors using the default sRGB profile. Since most people never bother to color calibrate their monitors, I've slightly adjusted the AMV's gamma to compensate. If the video is still too dark for your taste, I recommend increasing your monitor's gamma.

    The song was modified from the original for length.
