    Insert (1) credit to continue...

Finally, I can put this beast down.
Well, after all that work and fierce procrastination, here you have it. Although there are no real spoilers for FMA, it will make a lot more sense if you've seen the series. And firing up the emulator and playing Street Fighter couldn't hurt.

Now go on and watch the video, then read all this nonsense.

    The Origin:
This video was started a few days after I released my last one, Dangerous Places. After all the problems putting together that video, I just wanted to take a break and do some mindless action video. I'd also just finished watching Fullmetal Alchemist and was itching to make a video with it. So, all that was left was a song.
Ever since I first heard Ok Go's second album, I knew that "Invincible" was prime for an AMV treatment. At first I was thinking of a Ranma video, then planning a strange Trigun crossover vid, and then it all clicked into place with FMA.
The fighting game theme wasn't planned from the beginning. It must have been AMV Hell Championship Edition, which featured the Street Fighter 2 opening. Seeing that after so long awakened some serious nostalgia.
When I was a kid, I spent a lot of time in arcades (not always by choice), and I was around when Street Fighter 2 was making the rounds with its rediculous number of versions. Hell, some of the bigger arcades would actually have two different versions of SF2 under the same roof.
So strong was that feeling of nostalgia, I turned this video into a love letter to simpler times when I was just a lowly button masher.
If only it were that easy...

The Editing: (Or, how a simple concept eats up four and a half months)
The idea was to show a bunch of fights that never actually happened in the series. The scenes were vivid in my head and it wasn't until I actually tried to edit this thing together that I realized what I was getting myself into. At least 75% of the scenes you see had earlier versions or substitutions that I threw away. With some scenes like Roy vs. Scar or Havoc vs. Lust, there were at least three or four versions I had to throw away.
And it wasn't just that. There were a slew of technical problems that plagued the making of this video which forced me to ditch all of the other videos I had been editing on the side.
My inherrent laziness didn't help much either.

All quick comments and opinions are appreciated, good or bad.
