Obligatory VCA post
Whew, I don't know how many videos I've sifted through, then downloaded, then weeded out and categorized for nominations, but I'm pooped. I think I got close to half-way down the list of eligibles, but I don't think I have anymore nominations left in me. Oh well, I stumbled across some great vids that I will definately be enjoying in the future. Meanwhile, I'm hoping to see atleast one of my videos reach the semi-finals. An award would be great, but honestly, I'm not expecting it this year.
My current project has been in a stand still for a bit recently. But I now have the other anime I need to complete it and will start ripping today. It's almost half done, considering what I still have to put into it, but I think the hardest part is over. Now the tedious part of finding the right footage, again. Think I can have this project done by mid February at my current rate. We'll see...
Biding my time...
Well, this project is going to take longer than I thought. Or, I don't know how to do all this transparency and masking stuff simply and quickly. Take your pick, I think I'll check into the forums for some pointers. I'll probably end up starting another, more simple project to help me keep my sanity. Definately won't have anything done by New Years, too much going on during the holidays. Which is a good thing, family and traveling is usually a nice break from home.
Ack, blast, NARF!
O.K. my Nanowrimo thing bombed, or rather I bombed it cause I didn't feel like doing it after the first couple of days. So instead of working on my next video idea, I decided to catch up on some gaming, and that, my friends, was fun. Now I'm wanting to start my next vid, but I have to wait for the DVD to come in the mail, and it's just taking for freaking ever. Maybe Monday...
I'm not really looking forward to all the work that will be involved with this next project, but I'm anxious to see the final results. My idea is to use the original MIB teaser trailer with anime characters replacing Mr. Jones and Mr. Smith. This will end up being a major Photoshop project that will involve turning a certain red garment into a suitable shade of black, and it's is going to be a killer project. Fortunately, my wife is a Photshop wizard, and will atleast be able to help me figure out how to do this efficiently. I'm expecting 3 to 4 weeks of work, amongst my new job and traveling for the holidays and such. I would like to have it ready as a kind of New Year's kick off, perhaps as a good omen of sorts. But we'll see how well I can manage my time.
Well, my third video is finally completed. Took me almost exactly 1 month. Not that I worked on it the entire time, but ughh. Lots of time spent searching through animes trying to find proper scenes to use with the specific lyrics presented in the song. I'm just glad it's finished. And although I would like to start a new one, right now I've got other things to work on.
I'm currently training for a new job, and also helping out with tech on a local play. But also, I'm planning on participating in NaNoWriMo. That's, National Novel Writing Month, at www.nanowrimo.org. I don't know how well I'll do, but I'm gonna give it a good go. And becuase of this I won't have any time to work on videos during the month of November. But maybe one more before the New Year. Or perhaps one fabulous one for the New Year! Time will tell.
I've been working on this video for about 3 days now, and I'll I can say is it's sick and wrong!! You'll just have to wait and see.
