VCA's and TWIAMVs wut?
I keep forgetting I have this thing... meh... then I see someone i know post something and it's like... huh...
Apparently I'm in the running for Most Helpful Member? I'm not trying to be ungrateful for the nod, but um... when was I helpful this year? I really can't remember. I mean, I do often offer up my opinions on betas when their requested of me, and I've given advice and stuff on things in the chat room from time to time, and I do do what I do at cons and stuff... but really... I just don't think I was really all that helpful enough to get enough votes to make it to the semi's.
I'm not declining the nod. That would be stupid. After all, it's not my opinion that matters, but instead the opinion of the Viewers. If ya'll think I was most helpful then well... DEMAND A LIVE ACTION CATEGORY!!! I mean, my BEST video this year was a LA vid........ oh well...
In other news, I got dragged to the North American Auto Show in Detroit. So rather then recording the next TWIAMVs show when I normally would plan on doing it I was looking at pretty cars. Well... Ruth was at least. I was paying more attention to the setup of the displays and screens and projectors and what not. Got some nice pictures.
I tried to record an episode at the show but I just rambled about nothing. Then I just tried to record a show at home an hour or so ago. Audacity decided to flake out on me in the process and dropped quite a bit of what I said. Also, I wound up recording 90 mins of just me rambling on and on about things. I think I spent a good 45 mins talking about technology and how it might relate to AMVs...
In the end I scrapped the whole recording. Sorry guys, I'll record a better show this week and try to get back on track with the whole weekly thing.
So yeah, after a call from the con chair it looks like I'm in charge of their contest now. Should prove to be fun. The forums being down makes me sad but in the mean time I've got rules and all that jazz setup and ready to go.
If your interested, check them out: http://contests.ngsilver.com/ohayocon/
The AMV Wars will be there as well. I'm looking for a few good creators willing to come out to the con. I'm in the process of seeing what kinds of perks I can get for them, however at this moment I would still require they bring along their own editing rig. But I can see what I can do in that regard as well.
now to return to my regularly scheduled nano.
Welp I lost...
Yeah, that's right. I lost. MY video lost at ACEN '04. Didn't even get an honerable mention. However, I am glad that the video even competed. I mean, they cut half of the videos sent in because of time. So I should be gratefull that the video even competed. And I am.
That Golden Boy video was really good. It deserved to beat mine and I'm happy it won. Now I only wish the creator would hurry up and post a link to download it!! I wanna see it again!!!
Oh well. I'll try again next year. Same with Sugoi-con. Now, if only I had time to make a video for AWA.....
It's been a long and hard road... now I wait
Yeah, it's been a long time since I started work on the Armitage AMV. I've hit a lot of walls, had a lot of inspiration, and out and out completely finished the video. Clocking in at over 60 hours of work on it. This is a LOT more then any other video I have ever worked on. I hope it shows as much as I think it does.
But now that the video is done, burnt off, and shipped out to ACEN, I must wait... 1 month 'till it competes. It's going to be a LONG wait. But I believe it will be well worth it.
This will be my first time going to ACEN, and my first time competing a video there. I hear drama is going to have some tough competition so I know it's going to be a battle. I hope I win. Or at least come back knowing that the video was well accepted even though it wasn't as good as another.
I haven't done anything real fancy with the video. But the idea is origional, the song is origional, and I had fun doing it. Everyone I've shown it to has had fun watching it. So best of luck to everyone competing.
I just hope all of you loose... to me that is...
100% clips... 90% done... editing that is....
heheh, gotta love it how you can have every clip at just the right place and when you make the .avi file you notice that premier likes to mess with a few of them so that they are off track. Gotta love how every time you fix it again it goes back and messes it up again.... Don't you just LOVE premier? how it just loves to hate on you....
But, out of it came a clip I felt actuall fit that scene better anyway, so I'm happy.
That's right, I have the whole video done. All the scenes where I like them. But the editing is only 90% complete. I still have issues with some timing at a certain point in the video and I found out that I actually reused a clip that I didn't think I had (gotta love going back to work that was finished 2 months ago to find you forgot what you put in there). So I gotta find another clip to fit that scene well enough... which wont be hard, but I might have to do some more moving arround of items in order to get that scene to work.....
It just takes time...
Thankfully it appears that I will have enough time to get the video done before the ACEN due date. This makes me happy.
Now all I have to do is finish this workings, do some effect editing. Cut out some garbadge at certain places in my clips (gotta love capture errors) and then Premier it to the club next Tuesday! Then finally I can get some opinions on whether this video should be drama or action. Cuz' I really don't know right now....
Wish me luck!
