JOURNAL: ck25 (Christopher Malone)

  • 2005-05-10 21:26:29 I've come to the realization that it's just never going to happen. This last video is just never going to be shown. The last 25 exports to vdubmod or tmpgenc ended in the same way (with my computer crashing) and will most likely continue to be the same unless I get a new computer or replace a couple things. I feel like I've tried attacking every problem until they stack up so much over the days and weeks where it gets to the point that it's just not worth it (well, that and I'm out of ideas for where to go from here). The only thing I can think of is the switch to XP being the culprit...maybe one day down the line I'll feel inspired to delete every program and start over from scratch but that's probably a ways off. Who knows though, maybe I'll feel like giving it another go in a few days. In any case I think I'm either incredibly burned out and I'm actually done for good. Not that I regret anything that's happened in the past 4 years, but damn, I gotta find a job and a place to live. It sucks but it happens...it's been real fun, kids...see ya.
  • 2005-05-07 19:43:18 My computer keeps freezing everytime I try to compress in TMPGEnc...I'm pretty sure it has to do with all of the post work I've been trying to do for it. I still hope I can have it out by Wednesday just in case something goes horribly wrong on Friday...
  • ... 2005-05-04 12:16:25 So the other day I went back and started preparing my new video for the org. As it stands, there were three MAJOR problems that somehow manifested itself in the timeline. The music track had been moved forward a couple seconds throwing the entire video off...a logo stamp that came out of nowhere halfway through (I really don't know how that happened...I can't seem to rationalize it) and numerous other small things that could've been fixed in a few minutes.

So this can mean one of two things: 1) the video I sent to ACen is severely damaged and will probably not even make it past the submission qualifications 2) or I'm just being paranoid and it's all in my head. I'm really leaning toward the former though, which really sucks cause it would've been nice to premiere something at ACen. This is exactly why I get so frustrated nowadays...I mean the whole process of exporting has become a bigger hassle than it needs to be. I think I'm stopping for awhile after this one...I should really wait until I get all of my computer issues resolved...oh yeah, I might want to get a job as well...
  • It's All About... 2005-04-14 00:00:12 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

    I'm finished, bitches!!!!!!!

Heh, I just felt the need to say that. Seriously, I'm amased that I finished the video relatively early in the evening. I sent Tasha a copy to watch but haven't made any final versions since I still plan to iron out a few things here and there. By tomorrow I'll have it sent with Priority status (the flat rate isn't so bad) and friday it should be in the hands of whoever is running the contest. I'm gettin' pretty jazzed just thinking about it!
  • 2005-04-12 16:55:48 Still haven't finished my ACen entry. I wanted to really work at it yesterday but a headache stopped me from that. I really, really, reeeeally want to get this done but I don't know anymore. I'm usually good at putting work off until the last second but this could be a lot trickier...in fact I know it will be.
