Everybody hates it
Wow. That isn't true. I don't mind it, I don't think AMV4000 minds it that much and pilkington as well. And also there is the argument that amvers take footage without asking therefor amvers should stop bitching. So what does the general community's view on footage theft?? Well they love it because they are guilty of it all the time.
AMVs are footage theft by nature.
So, you're cool when people take your effects and put them in their own videos? Or when people cut out your credits and replace them with their own? Footage theft isn't the same as somebody just uploading your video and saying 'lolz I found an awsm video today". The argument about AMVers not owning the rights to the video is irrelevant to arguing whether or not people like their effort being pawned off by some hack.
But, I suppose I'm willing to amend my statement to :
MOST people hate footage theft. Some commies don't seem to mind it though, so please consider their libraries as a valid source of footage. This whole thing is about a YouTube problem anyway, so it's all pointless.
