Hello everyone!!

Thank you for entering our AMV contest, and helping to make Otafest that much more of a successful festival! The AMV contest ran on Monday, from 1:30 to close to 4:00 (we went overtime by close to 30 mins, yet I heard no complaints)! We moved the AMV contest into the largest room we had at the convention, and it was filled almost to capacity! Those of you who were there can definitely attest that the crowd was roaring in approval!

I would like to give a big thank you to Vlad for being on hand with all his rocking equipment and sage advice! If not for Vlad, our contest would have been significantly less wonderful - he made sure the videos looked good and sounded better!

Firstly, let me list the honorable mentions! Because the judging results were so close, with the top 7 places only seperated by a few points, I'd like to list the 4 honorable mentions:

Honorable Mention (4): Slay - The Summer Memories

Honorable Mention (3): Richard King - If I could rewind

Honorable Mention (2): Jade_eyed_angel - Good-bye, Nina

Honorable Mention (1): Boyd Hale - Major Tom

And now, without further ado, the winners!

Third Place: Mitch Sturkenboom - F.E.A.R.

Second Place: Matt Foldenauer - Dreaming - End of the World

First Place: Hana no Judgeholden - A City Divided

Thank you to everyone for competing! I, and more importantly, the AMV fans who flocked by the hundreds to Otafest, look forward to all of your entries next year!

Yes, congrats to all... The winning videos were excellent indeed!

The contest was a great success and the packed theatre gave a large cheer to virtually every video played

I placed 6th but I'm happy as I personally felt I did better than expected. I was expecting Niotex's Fear or Rut's Dreaming to take the top but was surprised by Judge's vid for I never saw it till I saw it take 1st place. It was a great video too. I'm glad I entered.
