Unofficial AWA 11 Results

Postby TaranT » Sat Sep 24, 2005 4:09 pm

<posting quickly from my hotel room>

As always, expect the official results from MCWagner later on.

Unfortunately, I forgot to bring something to write down the results, but I do recall a few.

The big news is that the Masters is a tie: Lostboy and alkampfer81 will each be receiving a jacket.

I know Vlad picked up Best Artistic for Pro. MeriC and VegettoEX got Best Character Profile. Kusoyaro for Best Live Action. JCD and Istiv picked up awards. Aqua Sky got a couple of awards, I believe. SQ got Best Drama in Expo. Koop got something, Best Romance (?) in Expo, I think.

More news later...hopefully from someone who knows more.

I will attempt to post a comprehensive list (Expo, Pro, and a complete listing of Masters entries) tomorrow after I retrieve my machine from the VAT and can pull the play list.

From the notes I have in front of me though Brakus's list looks reasonably right (Animetric Prods won Drama in Expo, only correction/edit I noticed after a quick glance).

Thanks for a great set of contests, and 'grats to all the winners!

Okay here is where I go wtf with Mckeed. That video is about a year old and hell he submited that to Ohayocon among other cons late last year and early this year.

Otherwise the list looks like a good bunch won. I am really glad to so the Macross Zero video in pro win something. It really is the type that has little chance at any fan voting contest.

But aw Kare Kano and the KOR vids got shut out. Those were incredible.

yea i dont know why old vids get submitted again. in no way does it discredit the awesomeness of the video cause the nutrigrain one was awesome and i still have that on my HD. but for people who have seen the video before and would like something new up there , it would be nice to get some new blood so to speak, cause i was hoping on a good comedy winner this year :P

but you all did a kickass job and i am glad you all won !!!
keep it up

Wow! Certainly unexpected but wow! Whoever was responsible for that, thanks so much! :)

Congratulations to all the winners and I hope everyone who went to the con had a good time. ^_^

Dude its expo, anything goes in expo. quite a few videos that won had won elsewhere previously, there are no such rules against things like this for expo. Most creators usually just pick their best works that havn't been submitted to expo already and submit that each year.

I didn't win anything. Really not surprising, though.

Just out of curiosity, did anyone see my video? (REM's At My Most Beautiful with Lunar Legend Tsukihime, called "Have I Found A Way?") I'm wondering how the crowd reacted to it.

Congrats to everyone who did win, though. :D
