Question about mixing music \ MEP tracks..

Postby MiyaDV » Sat May 05, 2007 5:37 am

So yeah I want to make a M.E.P. (somewhere else, for a game) And I'm probably going to use 10 different songs or so, and I was wondering what program I should use to mix the audio, and how should I do it? Also any tips from people with experience in this area would be great too,

thanks in advance

If you know what you're doing, you might very well be able to do it with something like Audacity. Of course, it wouldn't be nearly as fully-featured as, say, Adobe Audition or Cakewalk Professional, but depending on the style of music and the style of mixing you're going for, it would do the job.

Of course, there's always the possibility that the songs just won't mix together well, or that the MEP might work better if each song was separate. And you're obviously not going to want to use the same approach to putting together a mix of, say, 10 heavy metal songs as the one used for, say, this megamix of DDR songs (MP3, 21:09, 20 MB). It all depends on the music.

You should be able to make something work in your video editing software as long as you convert everything to .wav first; it should work really good if you have a non-linear video editing system [like Premiere, Vegas, Magix...] so you can use multiple audio tracks.
