G'day people.
Here's a question or two, 'bout that Vegas thing. :=)

1)How do I get keyable opacity of an event. That is how do I make certain parts of an
event more opaque, and other less.
2)How to make transition in "premiere style".That is how can I make a transition that I
just drag in between two events, and make the transition apply equaly to both parts.
Because if I remember correctly, in Premiere I could just key the parts of an event and associate various things with it, like opacity, position, etc...
3)Do you know of any good Vegas book, 'cuz there are tons of books about Adobe products(especially Photoshop), yet very few about Vegas.
Cheers!

1) Choose a clip, and move your mouse to the top edge of it. It should turn into a hand, and you can drag the opacity bar up or down to adjust the opacity level. Alternatively, you can go to the left part of the screen where all the track controls are and click on the cog, choose "Show Automation Controls". Then you can move the slider left and right to adjust the opacity of the entire track, or you can double-click on the blue bar and make a point so it only affects parts of the track.

2) Drag two clips together so that they overlap, then on the bottom left of the screen choose the Transitions tab, choose the transition of your choice, and drag it to the part where the two clips merge.

3) Pick your poison.

1)Which blue bar exactly? :(
2)Well does the thing, but not quite what I expected.Btw how do you remove the transition?
3)Well I hoped I would find some Vegas 7 books, athought there's probably lil' difference between 5 and 7, but still...meh
Cheerz!
p.s How do I make an event have less pictures.Like only one per event/clip.

1. its hiding at the top of the clip when the cursor turns into a hand with a finger pointing up, the blue bar wont show till you drag it down

2. right click on the transition section and choose "transition" and in the next menu choose "change to crossfade" that should revert it back to a crossfade

3. the "workings" are pretty much the same 5-7

ps. what do you mean "less pictures"?

1)Yes I see the white bar, but it won't open or anything, I can only lower or raise it.How do I add keyframes as mentioned earlier?
p.s. I mean the view>waveforms and frames.I can get clips filled with many pictures, or I can turn it off and get no pics at all.How do I get just one pic per clip, if such thing is possible?

1. not sure O.o i usually just cut the clip and use a different opacity on each part.... you can overlap them i suppose O.o

ps. you want to cut down to one frame? is that waht you mean?

zoom in on the timeline and cut off one frame, then right click and choose "create subclip" and you can streatch that one frame as far as you want... then you will have "1 picture" i hope thats what you mean by that O.o

No, I didn't mean one frame, I just meant to have one pic, so I can see what's the clip about, cuz with the option "wave forms and..." on, my Vegas slows down a lot.
But thanx anyway!
