Could have something to do with Vegas(7) :?

Postby Bijeli_Mish » Thu Apr 19, 2007 4:26 pm

Hi!
So I have a few problems concernig video editing and such, and I belive it could do something with Vegas. If it doesn't belong in this forum, feel free to move this topic.
Anyways'

1)It seems than I can't have .avi file with mp3 as an audio format. When I try to render a file, video part seems ok, but for audio only acceptable quality I get is with the PCM.
May sound a bit(a lot) noobish, is it possible to just leave mp3 as it is, other than cutting it, adding fx-es and such. The same thing happens when I try to use WAW as imported media instead of mp3.

2)When I try to import .vob in the Vegas I get only a few seconds of video. The same thing happens when I rename the file's extension to .mpg.I if I'm not wrong mpeg2 files are ought to be supported by Vegas.

1. what do you mean "i cant have"

do you mean you cant import avi files with mp3 audio?
or do you mean you cant export them that way?

2. VOB is shakey in Vegas for me, i convert them to lagarith encoded avis in order to edit them in Vegas they "are supposed to be supported" but at the same time that doesnt mean they work well :/

I mean, I import the video and the mp3 song.I mark my region and go to render it.
The default option is PCM uncompressed. There is mp3 offered, but the max quality is 56kbps I think. And when I choose that option I don't get any sound in the final video.

export your video like this from Vegas then get Virtualdub Mod and compress both the video and the audio as mentioned in those guides...

then you can get an XVID video with .mp3 audio

Thank you very much!
Did what I wanted it to do. :=)
It basicly comes down to rendering video and audio as separate, and then "joining" them in VDM.
