Real life diclonious!
Diclonius16 wrote:I'll have to agree with you. 13 episodes was not near enough for something like Elfen Lied. It was disappointing, but the series itself made up for the lack of episodes.
By the way, what did everyone think of the 14 episode?
I thought it was pretty funny.

Lucy was tranquilized as Nyu, but wakes up as Lucy, and she apparently hears everything. then she decapitates him.
Lyrs wrote:If you look closely at the relationship possibilities in this "harem" anime, you see a lot of moral and culture barriers being expressed. Lucy and Kouta represents the xenophobic nature of humanity along with humanity's fear of the "other", beings who are not of the same group, be it the clan or the culture heritage. Lucy's case forces the issue of "is it okay for one species to breed with another?" even if both partners are nearly identical in everything except for a few physical abilities. If we used another fictional example, would it be okay for a Klingon to interbreed with a human or vice versa? However, for the most impact, you'll have to consider or judge if you find it acceptable for a human to interbreed with an Neanderthal?
Myself, I say live and let live so long as both agreed to it. If you want to have sex with an alien, I don't give a damn. I dont' know any person who wouldn't want to have sexual intercourse with Nagato Yuki, except some girls and a few gay guys, but we can work that out. At this point, I'd like to say that I'm on the intellectual boundary of adding a "burden to society clause". Should mandatory physical exams be made to assure that no disease is likely to jump the genetic gap and potentially devastate the human population or vice versa? When you get this point, if you opt for society, you have to add a layer of diagnostics that can interfere with a person's freedom. What are your thoughts?
Speaking of Yuki, the relationship between Kouta and Yuki is obviously one which represents the moral and sexual barrier of incest, at least in the USA...well, I'll say parts of the USA. I can't all of the USA considering what we hear about red states. Anyway, my own position on it is I don't care. Again, there is the question of society's burden as both inter-species and incest are more likely to produce defective or sickly children.
Next, with Mayu, we see the depiction of the sexual barrier between an adult and a child. Clearly, the anime draws a distinct line and that is that any relationship of such nature is one of abuse. I agree. Irregardless of the consent of the minor, such an act is not morally acceptable. Kouta makes a good example of being a respectable father figure.
As for Nana, it's the whole package minus the incest.
