Bah, I wish I knew Japanese so I could read "Full Metal Panic: Burning One Man Force". Though the whole story arc has been very depressing...damnit...I need more...

The novel was "End of Day by Day"...but they weren't sisters. They were brothers.

The manga is "Full Metal Panic Sigma" but the sisters are totally different.

Hm... I just recently watched the TSR OVA again recently. I've seen it before, but it's the first time I've watched it after reading FMP: A Dancing Very Merry Christmas.

After watching it after reading the novel, I think the OVA actually has a lot of relevancy in setting up some minor things in the next FMP story that they'll eventually write. If my memory serves me right, there will be references borsh (not sure if this one will actually be hinted at, but was in the novel), future comments that Closeau makes about Weber (the OVA portrayed more interaction between these two), and....

Minor OVA spoiler wrote:Tessa admiting her feelings towards Sousuke... which Sousuke finally gives a straight response to her inquiry about who he really likes in ADVMC.

BTW, if anyone really cares about my opinion, I think ADVMC would make a better movie than another 13 episode series.

Actually I think it'd might be better to have it worked into a series with the next FMP novel...Continuing On My Own...but Continuing On My Own was a lot more violent than ADVMC...so maybe ADVMC should be an multipart OVA and have COMO and Burning One Man Force be made into a 26 episode series...

Though the FMP TSR OVA doesn't really fit in at all...it seems to have general Sousuke misinterpretation...and Mao rubbing Tessa...

I'll check it out when all the series is onDVD
If you want a series to be longer just write fanfiction!(but don't make anyone read it)

I couldn't wait that long. I snapped up the first English DVD when I saw it on ebay for $19 and loved it so much I bought the entire series on a two disk set with subtitles. It's definitely worth watching. I'll probablly watch the whole thing at least once more, and then again when the whole series is finally released in English.

No kidding, COMO was probably the most violent FMP so far, so many casualties, sooo many, and such as huge step forward in the story.... there's no way things will go back to the way they were before.

FMP:COMO ABOUT HAYASHIMIZU ATSUNOBU
Although it seems like COMO is the last novel involving the school, I hope it's not the last time we'll see Hayashimizu, since he's not in the school anymore. The scenes with him were pretty cool in this volume don't ya think?

I've read a summary of BOMF, I don't think the school will be pretty much a part of the story anymore. The story completely moves outside of Japan.
Actually BOMF leaves off at a cliffhanger too, it would have to pull the book after BOMF, Tsudou Make My Day (aka Get Together Make My Day), along with the story. So the 26 episode thing would be somewhat like the first TV season of FMP again.
Well Sousake did ask the other students to greet Kaname as a friend again when this was all over...I'm hoping they do go back to school together.

Well, the next book, BOMF, I believe takes place over several months and then some, and Sousuke still has not found Kaname at the end of the book. So even if he finds Kaname at the end of GTMMD, she would be at least 6 months (most-likely more) behind a credential school. Most-likely if Kaname ends up going back to Jindai, it'll pretty much be when all her classmates are about to graduate from their senior year.

BTW Ivvan, if you want to read the summary for BOMF, PM me and I send you the link.
Whoa, I just found out the FMP novels just got officially licensed by TokyoPop.

http://www.beta-waffle.com/blog/?p=368

That sucks. I don't like TokyoPop doing the translations... I'd have preferred Viz or Del Rey. Hopefully they'll at least spit out the novels fairly fast.

Shoji Gatoh is now writing the final volume of the series, apparently to be released in spring. Looking forward to it |:>

writing the final volume = another 6 months to a year before the anime comes out. should probably start a new thread when it does.
