I think Warhol was great for his time. If he seems like a hack today, it's because of the all the unoriginal art student fags who keep repeating his work as it were something still revolutionary.

There's also the fact that the campbell soup and monroe portraits are an EXTREMELY SMALL PORTION of Warhol's entire body of work.

But youre right, if something is simple, like an elaborate series of screenprints dealing with pop culture, then it obviously means the artist is a hack.
