Are there any other programs than these that are good for making AMVs? Not only in terms of effects and transitions but also in user-friendliness and that you adapt to it easily.

If you're a pro, use Avid Video Xpress HD or Adobe Software.
Then jump to stuff like Ulead Video Studio, Magix Video Editor.
