I believe this was when we got a huge influx of new members, and in those hordes were not those that composed the old org, but the kiddies that kill any good site.

I agree in part. I have seem some good editors break through the orcs like Stolen Soul, Kikai_Saigono, CrackTheSky, and aerialesque just to name a few. Even my current G/F joined in the latter part of 2005.

But I agree that there have been a bunch of snot nosed noobs flowing in like the floodgates have been open.

I've never paid attention to them, personally, but I've only really started visiting the forums in the past six months.

I also didn't realize that I joined in 2003. Wow. Guess since I didn't start making AMVs until later I didn't realize how long I'd been watching.
