First, if you scroll down you'll see a section of the forum that's just for Windows Movie Maker Help questions - that's where this thread should have gone. The mods will probably move the thread down there for you.

Second, that's a weird error. Are you saying entire scenes (from clips you weren't using) pop up in your final video? Or are these single frames from the scenes before/after the ones you're *trying* to add to the timeline? If it's single frames, you'll want to use the "slow down by half" option as much as possible and *then* cut the spare frames out of the clip - quickest way to make sure you get them all. If it's only a few clips with that problem, you can run them through vdub - it's frame specific, so you can delete any frames you don't want in the scene, and then import it back into wmm to use.

Wmm uses 3-frame chunks, so unless you slow it down, you'll only see the first frame in each 3frame chunk. If you're trying to get rid of spare frames at the end of a clip, your best bet is to slow it down till you can see all three frames in that chunk.

General question:
What type of clips are you using? Uncompressed (huffyuv or lagarith) or downloaded/overcompressed (xvid, wmv, etc)? If you edit with uncompressed footage you'll have better quality and fewer errors.

If the footage is already compressed, it's too late to save them as uncompressed files. That's why we don't support downloaded footage here. Try opening the episodes in VirtualDub and saving the clips you want as huffyuv or lagarith. Otherwise, you're stuck editing with a buggy codec.

To slow them down - add the clip to your timeline. Then you use an effect (been a while, so this might not be perfect) - try right-clicking the clip and see if that gets you the effects list, if not, there should be an 'effects/transitions' box on the left side of the program. The effect you want to use will say "slow down by half" - click that. Add the effect at least three times and you should see every frame in the clip - that will let you find those spare frames and cut them out. After you've cut out the spare frames, you can remove those "slow down by half" effects - then your clip will be back to its natural speed.

Or you can take your finished video file, open it in Virtualdub, cut out the spare frames, and save the video without them. If it's a just a few frames here and there, it shouldn't affect your sync.

...if it's more than a few spare frames, if it's actual *clips*, then yeah, an example would be good.

If you've never heard of VirtualDub, you should read the "all things audio and video" guide:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/
Even if you never rip your own footage, vdub's a really handy program to have.

Ack, forgot something. Are you using wmm 1.0? If you are, then you don't have access to effects at all and using Vdub is about your only option. Which sucks. Try upgrading to version 2.0 (or 2.1 if you don't mind installing service pack 2 to your computer).

An easier way than VirtualDM is to fade in/fade out or use a transition. I have no idea why it happens, but yeah. Unless you're making it go with the music and you kind of CAN'T, then your other choice would be what the Arigatomina said.

you'd have to convert it to something that VDM can read, but you can knockout stray frames on the final product by selecting them, then edit>mask selected frames (still in VDM).
it's pretty handy if the stray scene is 1 or 2 frames long. anything behond that may look like the video lags after you mask it
