Help with putting my videos on a DVD (Nero)

Post by Sayoria » Sun Jan 14, 2007 8:47 pm

I am using this program burner called Nero. The thing is, I burned a video I put together for my parents before, and it went all fine, but now that I need to put something on a disc for me, it is not working.

I am not sure if anyone here had this problem before, but this is what happens.

Here is what the program looks like. I have what i want to put up right here.

This is after. "No Appropriate Disc was Recognized in the recorder." The thing is, this is the same drive I am using, a DVDRW from the same package, and I don't get what this problem is. I reinstalled the program, and it is not working. Anyone have any answer to it?

**Relocate if this is in the wrong area, I tend to do that alot. =\**

you may have a bad dvd, or bad dvd pack. i've gotten packs of cds where half them were bad and the other half were alright

From your screenshot, it looks like you are trying to fill a double layer DVD (8.5GB). I've had about half a spindle of DVD+R DL (Double Layer) discs not able to be properly recognized by my burner.

I don't know if Nero recognizes automaticly the type of disk. If not - maybe it isn't a DL-disk at all?

It should work anyways if you reduce the number of episodes to fit a single layer disk.

From experience i know Nero tends to display max size of a dual-layer disc as the max-line when the disc currently in the drive is bad. Don't know if that helps at all, but you may have some coasters in your pack.

buy some DVD+R
verbatium or sony will do

set the DVD to DVD5 on the bottom menu of nero vision
by default on the first start up nero selects DVD9
after you hit DVD5 it saves that setting and uses it from now on unless it is changed

Also, check if there is a firmware update for your burner from the manufacturers site. I have had some dvds that weren't recognized by my burner that worked fine after a firmware update.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?
