I'm 80% done with mine, but I still need the new computer and I have no internet right now.

Ok, so I've come across some news after I PM'd Wired Knight to see if he was still alive.
He is, in fact :P and says the project is still on, but it seems the premiere date will be postponed, ie. I guess not at AWA. I hope that means we'll have more time to finish our incomplete segments as well, and that an actual deadline date will be given next time there is an official update.
I just thought I should let all the hangers-on know what the situation is.

Don't forget us Wired Knight! >.>

I know it's been awhile...but any new word? I've finished one of my two videos. Might get the second one finished before the deadline...but it depends what the new deadline is. I'll re-export my video into mpeg format shortly but where should I send it? I'd rather not put it on a public place.

If this project is actually still in the works, I'm going to have to completely redo my segment, because not only did it suck all kinds of.. Suck.. But I lost everything in the, like, 10 reformats I've done since then.

Yeah, it seems apparent that at this point, The Wired Knight has bailed. Since he never posted here after he said he would back in JULY, I asked him about it again in November and got no reply. And I know he hasn't disappeared off the face of the earth or anything, I've seen him post on other parts of this forum since then.

So it seems like we have two options: Proclaim this MEP to be officially dead and move on, or the better option would be to get someone else to run the Old-School Cartoon Project. I'd rather see someone else take over than have it die, since I think it's a great idea for a MEP, plus the fact that a few of us have already completed our segments and there's no sense in letting that work go to waste.

So what do you guys think?

Well, I would kind of like to see this get done someday. The only problem with picking up a MEP so old is that some of the segments will be out-of-date. Take the Short AMVs for Short People, for instance. That thing took.. 2-3 years to finish, and half the segments I did, I look back at now and think, "Well geez, I should've redone those before he released it."

I'd like to do my segment, but I lost the Swat Kats theme song and took about 5 minutes to find it yesterday and couldn't(but then again, it wa sonly 5 minutes). I don't know.

I could take it since I have a shitton of HDD space and my own server now, but that's only if nobody more qualified comes to the plate. Because I think everyone knows about how phail I am at managing MEPs and contests. >_>

Someone taking over or not doesn't make a difference to me. I'm ready to just say screw it and upload my video regardless.

If you have that ideal I'd just upload it as well.

Sorry about the delay guys. I've had a lot to take care of since then. Generally I'd been trying to find someone to help me run the project since I overestiamated the amount of time I would have to oversee the project. If there is someone who can help me run it then we can get this going again and still potentailly make it for AWA like I originally wanted. If not I have to call the project dead since it's too difficult for me to oversee this project and put everything together (let alone a master file) on the limited time I have.

Well, what all do you need help with? I can probably lend a hand depending on what and how much it is you need taken off your shoulders

I can oversee the project what I would need significant help with would be the following

FTP - Long story short my internet connection isn't good enough to run a stable ftp server to upload videos too. So it would be increasingly difficult for people to get me their videos.

Final project authoring - The only authoring experience I have is with my own videos so I can't same I'm capable of authoring the final thing for use.

If somebody can help me with those two elements then I think this project can still hold life.
