FFX and FFX2 Greatest Hits

Postby GermWarfare » Wed Jan 10, 2007 8:47 pm

Kinda a stupid question:

Without going in to details (I'll be using methods described in these forums), should there be any significant difference in ripping the FMV from FFX or FFX-2 whether you're using the "original" US copies vs. the "Greatest Hits" version?

Thanks!

ripping fmv's from ffx and x-2 are two completely different processes. FFX's fmv's are easier to get because someone took the time out to create a program which does all the work for you. With FFX-2, you have to make an image file of the game, then scan and extract the fmv's yourself with a program (nova extractor). Whether you have the original versions or the greatest hit versions of either game should'nt make a difference.

Yeah, I've been reading these forums; I've got the app to extract FFX and I read about how to scan/extract from FFX-2.

Basically, I had sold my copies of these games a long time ago, and I notice that what's available at the local Best Buy are the "Greatest Hits".

Thanks for answering my question! Wish me luck!!

I'm fairly certain that the 'Greatest Hits' version and the original ones are exactly the same except for the packaging, red color background surrounding the words 'Playstation' on the disc instead of black, and 'GH' appended to the end of the product code (SLUS-20312GH). It's possible that the GH versions have had some bug fixes, but I don't think that it would be enough to affect the extraction of the FMVs.
