Any good Songs For AMVs?

Postby icesta1 » Mon Jan 08, 2007 6:04 am

Just wondering if people can reply some songs that are good for AMVs but mostly songs with timings. Song Example:Numb, In the End, Explosive, Still waiting, Hellsong etc etc

I dont mind wat type of music it is as long it has a part where i can place a timing (mostly on the chorus os the song)

Have you tried Linkin Park - Papercut, or perhaps Linking Park - One Step Closer? I think Linkin Park - Lying from You and Linkin Park - My December would be good too. Oh, and don't forget about Linkin Park - Xcutioner and Linkin Park - Faint. I think that's all...

P.S. Try Linkin Park - Somewhere I Belong or Linkin Park - Breaking the Habit, or even Linkin Park - Hit the Floor!

WTH does "songs with timings" mean? All songs have some elements you can time clips to.

"Holic" by Taq: You never knew 7/8 could make such a good meter for arrow-stomping.

"The Least 100sec" by Hirofumi Sasaki: I don't know what-all is going on with the tonality in this one (it's still diatonic, yes, but the center keeps jumping around), but it's still good (I can just imagine this going to some kind of racing animé, oslt), and the long version ("The Least 333sec") is freakin' awesome.

Every piece of music can be made into an AMV. It just takes some imagination, creativity, and exploration to see ways to manipulate the footage to fit the music.

as for the music:

Don't fall under the trap that you have to use the songs as is. If you have a copy, open it up on a sound editor and modify it to your own liking. Too fast-slow it down, to slow-speed it up, too loud, not enough emphasis? etc. Change it.

If you want to be even more fancy, do some audio tweaking by recalibrating the room types or audio distortions.

I don't actually make AMVs since I don't have the you know, talent and patience. However I think it depends partially on what anime you intend to make your AMV out of some songs carry certain subject matter that goes better with some anime. Next of all the mood of your AMV is fairly important, do you want to make a serious AMV or a joking one? Lastly and most importantly it has to go with your personal tastes. If you think making a Dragon Ball Z AMV to a Linkin' Park song would be just the greatest thing since sliced bread that is your decision and all the power too you. No one can stop your personal preferance unless it breaks some kind of laws. Hope this helps and I am pretty sure you actually already have some of your own songs in mind. If you actually want help picking a song that would suit a perticular anime or mood just ask.

Disclaimer wrote:In no way do I actually condone the making of Linkin Ball Z AMVs, but I used it as the example because it is pretty much the penultimate example of people making AMVs on personal preferance.

Something that is 100% music, that nobody has ever heard of or something like that.
Other one that would rock is something that reminds you with some cool melancholic nostalgia.
Then you could also always use lots of songs and edit them and stuff like that.
Y'know.
