Premiere 6.0 video suddenly black! HELP!!

Post by Songbird21 » Sun Dec 17, 2006 12:43 pm

I have been working on my newest video for over 3 months without a single problem. But last night I went to export it and suddenly the last few seconds of my vid only had the video 2 track showing :?

Then I went back into Premiere to check on it and when I scrubbed the timeline it kept alternating between video 1 and video 2 showing nothing but black! I don't understand it. I've tried rebooting, deleting the preview files and playing with the track visual settings. Nothing has worked!

None of my other vids that I'm working on have this problem. I don't know what to do. HELP PLEASE!!!!

next to the track there should be two little boxes.
the one on the left should be an eye.
if you don't see that, then that video track is invisible.

other than that...what codec was used to encode your footage?
...posting the project settings would also help

When this has happened to me, I've fixed the problem by doing the following:
- Turn off the video preview on the timeline. (show filenames only) Restart Premiere.
- Export video in segments. (ie: export first half, restart Premiere, export second half) Join in VirtualDub, AviSynth, whatever.

Tried that already. It's not the problem. In fact, I haven't changed a single thing as far as settings or anything like that goes. It's like it suddenly just decided to stop showing the video. And my other projects are fine. It's only this one.

Project settings:
24fps
640 x 480
huffy UV

And now it's showing all black. I'm going to go insane. I have a contest deadline in less than a week!

Are your source files AVIs (and if so, how are they encoded?) or AVISynth scripts (and if so, do they work outside of Premiere?)?
