Here's a question, Do you know which day this will end up airing? Considering Hotel rates and travel costs for myself, I can only attend one day of the con. Will we know in time that I could arrive in time for registration on that particular day?
And I thought nobody read these.

Also hanging around, just

--out of ideas
--busy with doctors, drugs and trying to put on weight; the first two keep thwarting the third :?

I'm going on Christmas break today though, so check in with me in January, I might have something then.

deuceloosely, I have a serious problem...
Some strange thing happened lately and I don't have a video card now... And you know, you can't really work with Vegas or even WMM while you have no video card and your monitor is attached to the mother board...
Anyway, I think I won't be doing anything now until I get a new video card, and that will (maybe) happen on 20th February, which is my 18th birthday and I hope I'll get enough money to buy at least a "Rage" or a "VooDoo3"...
So for now, I'm just gonna say goodbye, I'll still be here, but I'm done with my creations. I hope that I helped to you somehow deuceloosely, and when I'll get back I hope that it will be before the ending of this project...

You have helped out immeasurably. Hopefully you can get the trouble fixed before too long. Until then, I'll be anxiously awaiting your return. ;)

jayn_newell:
PM me and fill me in, if you wish. Whatever is happening with you sounds serious and I just wanna know you're okay...

To everyone else...as far as content, I think we're about halfway to the minimum goal of 30 minutes of non-title clips. This is good. I just need more is all *puppy eyes*...

this project closes for post-production on March 13.

Don't be worrying about me too much. I'm fine, just a couple minor things I'm dealing with. It's annoying and distracting, but nothing major (so it's not like "I'll see you in a month after my surgery")

Here's the deal: I am handing the reins of this horse over to my Tekko advisor. Before anyone panics or WTFs, nothing much is going to change. I just needed help with the organization and execution of this project as a whole.

We are NOT losing creative control, so no worries there (unless you try to turn something in that crosses the PG--13 line). Anyway, she and a few other producers she knows will likely contribute clips as well.

I'm not entirely sure what else I can tell you other than this, my first attempt at organizing a con event, is becoming a learning experience (which is how I'm looking at the situation). Keep sending in those clips - and drop a line once in a while.

I miss hearing from you all.

Oh, yeah...very important!

I need you all to submit to me via PM or email a list of anime and song titles / artists for each clip you have sent. This is for the closing credits. It would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance...

As mentioned, not much is going to change. Any ideas you guys come up with are certainly welcome. And yes anything above pg-13 content is pretty much the one way to guarantee not being able to contribute.

One of the things that WILL change is submission... I use ftp for Tekko and there is no reason why it should not be used for this. Contact me via pm, email or aim (all availaible if you go into forum profile) and I can give you the login information.

Also, when submitting, I need your clip information such as anime used (I've seen a lot of anime but chances are someone will stump me) song/audio, YOUR information etc etc. I can put it into a lovely database that will make things easier when it comes time to credit who did what. Just a basic text file will do.

All previous submisisons are already going up on the ftp, so you do not need to resubmit, although if you have yet to get information up, then feel free to get a hold of me and make sure I have it.

If anybody needs to ask anything, again contact me. I might not get back to you immediately this week since I have finals from tomorrow until next thursday when I get on a plane. So just bear with me on that one. I do read email so you'll probabaly get a response within a few days and certainly by the end of the week.

So keep going nuts guys.

I have a good news as well :o
I got my old video card back(GeForce FX 5200), from a friend, so I'm back in business!
Now I'm trying to work on the ending credits. I know it's not the right time, but I just had a good idea. When I'm done, I gonna send you the beta without credits, so you could judge it and see if it's good to use.
I also thought of a few new ideas while I was stuck without video card, so I'm gonna make those ideas come to life.
I'm glad that we have an experienced creators joining our crew, I hope they will help us in this project and I wish them lots of luck! :P

Alright guys I have all entries. I would like audio and video information so if you submitted something, please get that to me. I can get most of your guys' video sourced ided with few issues but no clue in terms of audio. If you get that to me I can also confirm that I definitely have your entry and that everything is functioning as it should.

also I think going through the entire thing I want to really emphasize video quality. This project is going to be put on a big screen, so that means every little imperfection is going to be quite glaringly obvious. This isn't every entry but there are a few where this is a concern. Once I get contact information I plan on contacting those with this and see if there is the possibility of getting a cleaner version. If you have any questions on things such as cleaning up footage, ripping dvd's or deinterlacing, please ask. I want everything to reflect the best efforts of those entering. Also having the ftp as an option means that you are not restricted on your file size. For short clips usually this wouldn't be a problem but i know yousend it has some restrictions on how large of a file can be sent.

If you have any questions on formats, I highly recommend looking at the file formats for Tekkoshocon's contest http://www.tekkoshocon.com/amvrules.html since I am pretty much going to ask for the same. No really screwy formats yet, but if you are wondering about resolution and any other oddity, that should cover most of it. As I said before if anything is unclear, just ask. I promise to get back to you asap. If you don't hear back from me in a week, bug me again.

Also I am going to set the deadline for submissions to be the same as the AMV contest. This gives me time to encode and get everything put together before the con. Since I am assuming that just about everything is going to come via ftp (if you really want to mail it in, particularly if you also intend on entering the contest you are welcome to but is hardly necessary) This means you guys have until March 9th to upload.

And Darkness, get in touch with me after this next week. I'll be busy for the next few days (taking study break now) but since you have been working on potential closing credits I want to keep in touch with you.

Just to be clear, peeps, the new March 9 deadline is only six days earlier than the original so there oughtn't be issue there.

I'm gonna kinda miss seeing what your twisted imaginations come up with. But then, it's gonna be cool to have a bit more time free for creating clips and being surprised at con time.

It would be nice to have as many of you there as possible to see what you have created. If there is time for questions after the screening, your presence would also be helpful. ;)

I'll be at Katsu if any of you wanna meet up and hang out. I'll be Abel Nightroad with my wife, who will be Sister Noelle. I'll certainly have something in the AMV contest as well.

For now, though...I'm still looking for the thing in Sony Vegas 6.0 which either detects scenes from video or splits clips into scenes. If any of you know what I should be looking for, please let me know. Thanks in advance...

Illia, I'll definitely contact you, but I need your MSN (I don't really like AIM, so I would prefer MSN, but if you don't have it, AIM is fine).

Now, deuceloosely, in Vegas you have that thing, the bars with effects and transitions and all that, there's also a bar there called "Cutter", somewhere between them, if I'm not mistaken, cuz, well, my Vegas is in Russian, so I can't translate it in English right
Anyway, you need to cut your scenes there by yourself, it's not movie maker, that cuts the scenes for you. I also looked for something like that to cut my scenes in Vegas when I first touched it.
Also, if you just want to cut your scenes on the timeline, just press the "S" button on your keyboard when the mouse is on the place you want to cut. I know it's annoying, but eventually you get used to it.
Deuceloosely, you don't know HOW MUCH I WANNA GO TO THE CON! But... *sniff*... unfortunately, I'm VERY far away and I don't think I will ever get enough money to fly to USA... I wish some of you could record it on camera or something and then upload it or send me, so I could see the whole thing. I know I'll be able to watch the TekkoshoCon Edition on the org, but It's also interesting for me to see how things will go on the con... but.. Oh well...

What Darkness is refering to is called the 'trimmer' in the English versions.
