I need help finding video editing softwhere

ok back before Windows XP I use to use adobe premiere 6.0 with windows 2000 to make AMVs. Now that I have been useing Windows movie maker for a wile I just went back to premiere to do something crazy and now I can't Import Divx files into it. I want a program that can use Divx files and also that is easy to use do you guys know of any

your best bet is to forget about trying to use divx footage.
Vegas can use divx/xvid files...but just because you can doesn't make it a good idea
(read this to find out what can happen)

but encodeing movies takes for ever and ever and I have 4 or so divx movies I want to use

well do you want the footage to work or not?
if you want it to work, you will have to do something about the divx footage.
Any way that you will go about doing this will either take time or slow down your editing program

ok what is the best then Mpg1, Mpg2, MP4 or under avi what I want to use H.264/AVC, MpegI, Mpeg II, Mpeg4 H.263, H.263+, Ms Mgeg-vI, Ms Mgeg-v2

You'd want something Like Huffyuv or Lagarith which fall inside the AVI container.
