AVIDemux problems when trying it out

So I read about this program called AVIDemux

Basicly, I read that it does stuff that VitualDub sorta needs to do to keep up with new formats and containers and stuff. At least that's what it said in text.

I went out and downloaded versoin 2.3 of AVidemux for windows and tried it out. When ever I open any video file, AVI, MP4 or MKV... It just kinda... Dies. o.O The program just dies, shuts down, pwoof.

Any ideas? O.o

If you're on Windows, Avidemux needs the latest STABLE release of Cygwin (same for X11 on a Mac).
