I don't know if conformism is neccesary, but there's points where sections of the audience become a distraction from the music and a sideshow in themselves. This is when the show starts to suck.
Personally, I pick it up far more from the band and the specific songs themselves. But as much as non-conformity is nice, I think it's no good disrespecting any large chunk of the audience.

Back on topic, I already was.

The two bands I used as examples (King Crimson and DDT) presently occupy the top spots in my listening pantheon. King Crimson still holds my top respects because, musically, they are a far more incredible beast. DDT is just a really good band musically, but with a genius vocalist/lyricist/frontman who rips in ways that are legal only in Russia.

Yea.

I realized by the way that I said something stupid in that post. I said "a sideshow in themselves", which actually sometimes is perfectly valid. Audience participation is a huge part, if not the main part of some concerts. This wouldn't work for much of metal or other 'hard' forms of music, where the whole point (I think) is the musical prowess of the musicians on stage, not the Joes in the pit.
On the other hand, there are some perfectly democratic types of music where the Joes in the pit are perhaps the main attraction. So, again, varies a lot.

Dancing? There's a style of dance where you kick people in the head? Last I heard that was called martial arts. And, while a badass way of expressing your love of metal, it isn't very sociable.

There was a guy doing Tai Chi to the music at Ozzfest 2001. I think it was Slipknot that was on at the time. That was actually really odd looking. :?

All their albums are similars. Except Gallery of Suicide, I must admit I like this album.

And for Burzum, I prefer Hvis Lyset Tar Oss. Four tracks for one album, it's original for black metal.

Hmm, I don't like Burzum, I do like black metal only a little bit. =)
And yeah, Cannibal Corpse albums are most similar, but they are so fucking good!

Btw. I go to a concert of Arch Enemy, they are also very good and Angela Gossow has a fucking great voice! Hehe, she is from germany. -D[/quote]

Hehe, hell yeah! I like King Crimson so fucking mutch! I want to see them live, but they are not going often on tour. That's why, I hope they bring a new good album out and going on tour. The best where, with Greg Lake and the are playing the classics like 21st Century Schizoid Man, Lark's Tongues In Aspic, Moonchild, T Talk To The Wind....
Anyway, the newer stuff from King Crimson are also fucking good!

I dont classify Burzum as black Metal, because Varg says his albums were never meant to be Black Metal but more Ambience than anything else.

But definitely if you guys like Black Metal, I highly highly highly recommend Celtic Frost. Especially there new album "Monotheist" which just came out this year and is one of the best albums I picked this year...

I saw Arch Enemy earlier this year actually, fuck they are great live but then so is everyone...

Cannibal Corpse, mmm It is true that from Gallery it changed, the rest sounded more like gallery however Kill is where the money is at, I have listened to this album non-stop now for almost a month and am not tired of it, I am finding new things about this album each time.

New album's I have purchased: (saw this earlier credits to them)
Him: Dark Light
Amon Amarth: With Oden on our Side
As I lay Dying: The Fall of Ideals
Lamb of God: Sacrament
Battlelore: Third Age of the Sun
Deicide: The Stench of Redemption
Killswitch Engage: As Daylight Dies
Hammerfall: Threshold

Rock Hard Power Spray

Postby RHPS » Sat Dec 09, 2006 12:26 pm

http://www.rockhardpowerspray.com

This is my favorite band. They have just signed a big deal with Jimmy Pop from Blood Hound Gang, meaning that they will release a record in USA.

Rock Hard Power Spray is here to take you by surprise! Enjoy the synergy between old school punkrock energy and the riffs and hooks of the hardrock scene of the 80's. A melting pot of noise, melody and aggression played with 200mph and 140dB right through your ears. The music is cleansed of the pity and whimping sound of the 90's rock, this is rock 'n fucking roll without second thoughts or easy bought solutions; it's vigorously, experimental and provocative. The live act of Rock Hard Power Spray is raw attitude, narcissism, energy and pure aggression; a show being delivered by a band in its right element.

There is music and video on their website, and you can also visit their profile on myspace.com: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... d=63170713

FETISHIZING THE INHERENT AND DELINEATED

:?

I find it rather amusing how all of my favorite artists, at least until recently, were either old and ugly, or both. Only one exception to that appeared lately, Russian vocalist Inna Zhelannaya, though she'll slowly be edging into the 'old' category (I believe she is around 40 now). Another possible exception is David Sylvian, though he's also far from young now.

Is it axiomatic that pretty musicians make mostly crappy music?

I wouldn't say he's ugly. I mean, he doesn't necessarily make me want to switch sides, but he's no Lemmy Kilmister.
