re-encode your footage with a lossless codec like Lagarith (get codec an installer) using virtualdub(/mod)
the files will be large, but they should work. that's why you should take small clips in virtualdub(/mod)

this'l tell you how to use virtualdubmod to do this

as opposed to re-encoding the entire movie

What about the 23 FPS? Adobe Premiere Cannot Handle it. Could that be a factor?

the properties window rounds down.
so 23.987 rounds down to 23 (the closest I could get was some 29.97 fps that got rounded down to 29, but I assume that the same thing happens with 23.987 or whatever it is)

I know that, but dosen't <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... l">This</a> still apply? I ran into buggy footage when I forgot to change the framerate of a script after IVTC.

yeah...forgot about that.
so an avisynth script with the line assumefps(24) should solve that right?
kill two birds with one stone and re-encode at the same time
