CyberLink PowerDirector Question

Okay. So I got PowerDirector for its ease of use and many features. Now that I have it, it won't work for making music videos for one reason. I can't get the music to play while I'm editing the video clips. Anyone know how to fix this?

I got PowerDirector also.. and I can't even figure out how to do a simple fade between 2 clips, a task that takes seconds in WMM or Premiere.
